The Union Cabinet, chaired by PM Narendra Modi, has approved the comprehensive scheme "PRITHvi" (Prithvi Vigyan) of the Ministry of Earth Sciences. With an outlay of Rs 4,797 crore for the period 2021-26, the scheme aims to holistically address all five components of the earth system: atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, cryosphere, and biosphere.
