The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) has announced the expansion of the "PM-WANI" (Prime Minister Wi-Fi Access Network Interface) scheme. The target is to establish 1 million Public Data Offices (PDOs) by the end of 2026 to provide affordable high-speed internet in rural and remote areas.
