Divyanshi Bhowmick Makes History by Winning U‑15 Girls’ Singles Gold at 2025 Asian Youth TT Championships.

In July 2025, 14-year-old Divyanshi Bhowmick of India created a landmark moment in Indian table tennis by clinching the U‑15 Girls’ Singles gold at the 29th Asian Youth Table Tennis Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, ending India’s 36-year drought in this category. She also secured qualification for the upcoming World Youth Championships.


      - Divyanshi became the first Indian in 36 years to win the U‑15 Girls’ Singles title at the Asian Youth TT Championships. The last Indian champion was Subramanian Bhuvaneswari in 1989 during the New Delhi edition. This victory marks a pivotal milestone in India’s journey in international youth table tennis.

      - Seeded second in the tournament, Divyanshi dismantled three top Chinese players, including Zhu Qihi in the final (4-2) and Liu Ziling in a thrilling seven-game semifinal, showcasing mental resilience and top-tier play under pressure at the continental level.

      - Her gold-winning performance earned her a slot at the World Youth Table Tennis Championships scheduled for November 2025 in Romania, signaling her emergence on the world stage and India’s growing presence in global junior TT conditions.

Main Point :-   (i) Divyanshi is a product of the Dani Sports Foundation, part of the scouting and training pipeline alongside the Ultimate Table Tennis (UTT) Juniors programme. She was also named Best Women’s Player (Overall) at the Table Tennis Super League (TTSL) Maharashtra in April 2025, reinforcing her domestic credentials.

      (ii) India concluded the Tashkent championships with a total of four medals: one gold (Divyanshi), one silver (U‑15 Boys’ team), and two bronze medals (U‑19 Boys’ team and U‑19 mixed doubles), indicating strong depth and consistency across youth categories.
