The five new sites are Aghanashini Estuary, Magadi Kere Conservation Reserve, and Ankasamudra Bird Conservation Reserve (Karnataka), along with Karaivetti Bird Sanctuary and Longwood Shola Reserve Forest (Tamil Nadu).
