A rare "Golden Tiger" (or Golden Tabby Tiger) was recently photographed in Kaziranga National Park in Assam. The golden color is caused by a recessive gene mutation known as "wideband", which affects the production of black pigments. Kaziranga has the only recorded population of such tigers in the wild in India.
