India and Nepal Sign Pact for Export of 10,000 MW Power.

During the 7th India-Nepal Joint Commission Meeting in Kathmandu, both nations signed a long-term agreement for the export of 10,000 MW of power from Nepal to India over the next 10 years. External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and his Nepali counterpart N.P. Saud witnessed the signing.

  • India also announced a financial package of NPR 1,000 crore for the development of renewable energy infrastructure in Nepal.
  • Both sides inaugurated three cross-border transmission lines to facilitate energy trade.
