CENJOWS Hosted the 2nd Edition of Defence Literature Festival ‘Kalam & Kavach 2.0’.

In April 2025, the Centre for Joint Warfare Studies (CENJOWS), operating under the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff (HQ IDS), Ministry of Defence (MoD), in partnership with Pentagon Press (New Delhi, Delhi), organised the 2nd edition of the Defence Literature Festival ‘Kalam & Kavach 2.0’ at the Manekshaw Centre, New Delhi.


      - The theme for the 2025 edition was ‘Securing India’s Rise through Defence Reforms’, with a focus on Defence Technology, Future Warfare, and Defence Manufacturing.

      - ‘Kalam & Kavach’ has emerged as India’s leading forum for discussions on national security and geopolitics, convening senior military leaders, policymakers, industry stakeholders, and strategic experts from across the country.

     

Main Point :-   (i) The 2025 edition emphasized critical areas including Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum computing, cyber technologies, drone warfare, space technologies, and semiconductors, reflecting the future trajectory of Defence Technology and Warfare.

      (ii) It also spotlighted themes like Defence Manufacturing, Aatmanirbharta (Self-Reliance) in defence production, and reforms in acquisition and procurement processes.

(iii) The event was held against the backdrop of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh declaring 2025 as the 'Year of Reforms', with the goal of accelerating India’s transformation into a combat-ready, technologically advanced defence force.
